The Vampire Strikes Back (25/05/2006)
Filming has now begun to produce an exclusive documentary
about the De Havilland Vampire, provisionally entitled “The
Vampire Strikes Back”.
This programme will include the history of the De Havilland
Vampire, a look at the history of WZ507 (currently believed
to be the only airworthy Vampire T11 in the world) and interviews
with pilots and ground-crew who worked on the Vampire during
its RAF service.
The film crew will also be allowed unparalleled access to
WZ507, capturing extensive footage of the aircraft, with cameras
in various locations including the cockpit. There will be
some stunning air-to-air shots of the Vampire and a comprehensive
look behind the scenes as we go flying with the pilots.
The production is designed to appeal to enthusiasts of this
classic British aircraft and will be released as a DVD at
a later date.
